When Schuco made the 1959 Cooper, we were a little surprised to see a few modern race tech features included but this is far more authentic to the 1960 British Grand Prix winner that it is modelled on. The hinged rear body section reveals a well detailed Coventry Climax engine with Cooper embossed transaxle behind and full suspension. The model is shipped with the front body section separate and here we see plenty of chassis detail and plumbing including capillary tubes to the oil and water gauges in the dash. The bodywork does need a little bit of a squeeze to fit but once in place sits nice and snugly. Overall a fine model of an historically important race car and a fine tribute to the late Jack Brabham.
